Last year I was on the design team for the Sierra Journal, a publication featuring a curated selection of visual artwork, photography, and literary works. The team was invited to submit a proposal to the the board to be chosen as the art direction for that year’s issue. Out of the sixteen proposals, mine made the top four. Ultimately the board chose to go with a modern minimalistic approach, however they praised me for my creative take which they called “nothing short of impressive” and it led to an offer by the college literary club to design their annual zine.
